Not So Crazy Cat Ladies, Animals and Boob Jobs

There’s jokes all over the place about crazy cat ladies. You know, those ladies who don’t have a boyfriend, girlfriend or aren’t married, so, they accumulate cats to compensate for the love that they’re not getting. I suppose there are crazy cat men too, but you never really hear any jokes about them.

So are these crazy cat ladies really a bit nuts? Are men and women who are widowed, divorced, hurt, damaged or who just can’t find a human to share their love with; and then, so to speak, turn to animals, crazy? How about ladies who are looking for the same love and companionship that cat ladies are looking for, but who bleach their teeth whiter than ivory, color their hair in more shades than a 21 year-old stripper, install fake lips, boobs, butt implants and suck enough fat off of them to fill a kitchen sink, more sane than those ‘crazy’ cat ladies?

People look for connection in different ways and anyone who has had animals and has taken the time to see them as they really are, knows that animals and humans connect. Regarding animals and love, an insightful writer by the name of Jack H. Schick, writes, “I firmly believe that love is of the Spirit and is immortal. So when I shed this shell and join that Spirit, everything I’ve loved will be there too.” He clearly feels that animals are capable of the thing we call love and people can be a part of that love.

Getting back again to whether these crazy cat ladies or crazy cat men, are any crazier than the women and men who do some serious physical alterations to get love, acceptance or connection from humans? You may say, I see your point, but those who have newly minted midsections, or lips like a Nubian princess, or boobs like a Swedish farm girl will be having physical relationships—sex—with someone whereas those animal nuts will not and therein lies the big difference. True, but will someone sporting so much plastic and essentially so much of something other than what they really are, feel like they are truly connecting or is it their body-shop work that people are connecting about. And when all that fake that was used to connect fades, drops or realigns and they’re essentially back to what they really were like before the handiwork, what happens then?

People have choices to make and I say people who connect with animals and truly connect within some form of love, for whatever reason, are not crazy and shouldn’t be labeled as such. Many of these people choose not to have plastic surgery to try and help them connect. They’re not any different or perhaps even less ‘crazy’ than those of us who go under the knife to please or get humans to connect with us. Many ‘crazy’ cat ladies strive for human love and connection as well, and some finally find it or find it again in their lives. When they do, they never abandon the animals that they’ve known and shared a love and connection with. Sadly, perhaps, some never find that human love and connection and they continue on sharing love, connection and contentment with others of God’s creation. And that’s more than all right.
